A Munters DryCool unit provides operators the ability to control temperature and humidity independently. DryCool is designed to cost-effectively treat 100% makeup air and can work in conjunction with your existing A/C system or energy
recovery ventilator (ERV). It controls humidity on an as-needed basis when humidity levels exceed setpoint.
Conventional air conditioning systems do not effectively control humidity. Recent increases in makeup air requirements
have changed sensible heat ratios to levels where these systems operate poorly. DryCool operates cost-efficiently because all of the energy required for the operation of its desiccant dehumidifier is recycled from cooling
components. It is designed to provide an
economical way to bring makeup air into a space
at room-neutral temperatures and low dew point to
control space humidity. DryCool combines the benefits of desiccant
dehumidifiers with the cooling of DX air conditioners to pre-treat makeup air before it is brought into a building. These units include a direct expansion
pre-cooling coil, a desiccant wheel, an integrated
condensing package, a supply fan, and a reactivation
fan. They can include gas, electric, hot water and
steam heat. Systems independently control
temperature and humidity with optional night
setback and remote monitoring. Unit installation can
be indoors or outdoors. These systems can process
1,000 cfm to 16,000 cfm of makeup air.
The Munters DryCool Standard, a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), conditions building supply air before it enters the HVAC system. It removes water vapor from ambient air or an air mixture while reducing energy use for cooling by up to 40% compared to other systems and uses less energy than other DOAS.
The robust, award-winning DryCool Standard humidity control unit combines Munters desiccant dehumidification technology with packaged refrigeration to meet desired supply air conditions. A single air-cooled circuit removes water vapor from 100% ambient air or an indoor-outdoor air mixture. The desiccant wheel absorbs airborne moisture while waste heat from the condenser reactivates the wheel. Waste heat recovery reduces the cooling tonnage, providing energy-efficient temperature and humidity control. It outperforms other dehumidification systems, delivering drier air while consuming less energy.
